I've lived in a lot of cities and traveled to a lot more, and I've never seen a skyline that makes my heart light up like that of Portland, Oregon. The bridges, the cranes, and the old public works buildings give Portland a Gotham-like feel that breeds creativity, romance, and a few crazy people. There's no feeling quite like driving through the various tunnels under mountains and seeing the skyline emerge as if from nowhere. Portland, you're a beautiful city. I hope to see you again someday.
